I’m passionate about solving the world water crisis and designed this series of posters to bring attention to this issue. The series is critical of Americans’ desire to “get fit” and achieve 10,000 steps a day, while children in third world countries are walking miles daily for their basic human needs. I played with the type interweaving with the children’s bodies to emphasize the burden of collecting water on these kids who should be in school and just “being a kid”. All the copywriting I wrote and is inspired by stories I have heard from the field. These posters are a part of GVSU’s permanent art collection.
