I like to participate in West Michigan AIGA/Code for Good’s yearly event called Weekend for Good, where you do a weekend-long design sprint for a non-profit. The non-profit I worked with is a Reggio-inspired K-5 school, in need of a brand identity and website.

Website can be viewed here: childdiscoverycenter.org

The school’s art teacher had drawn their narwhal mascot, which I used as a base for building this full logo concept around. I also created a text-only version, with hand-drawn type highlighting the “Child Discovery Center”.

The school expressed interest in some social media images, which I was able to incorporate some of the bold patterns from the website into.
